DQ200 – 7-speed dry-clutch DSG
The DQ200 (codes 0AM and 0CW) is the Volkswagen Group’s 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with a dry clutch. It is used in smaller front-wheel-drive models.

The DQ200 has been widely used in lower-powered petrol and diesel models, for example:

Typical DQ200 faults
- Mechatronic faults – for example fault codes P17BF and P189C, gears disappearing or the gearbox dropping into neutral.
- Clutch wear – jerking and judder when pulling away, especially in city driving.
- Dual-mass flywheel wear – rattling and vibration.

Does the DQ200 need oil changes?
The DQ200’s official service schedule has no regular gearbox oil change, because the clutches are dry and the oil only lubricates the gears. With high mileage a change can still make sense.
