Audi S tronic service and repair
S tronic is Audi’s dual-clutch transmission – the same technology Volkswagen, Skoda and Seat call DSG. We service and repair S tronic gearboxes: oil changes, mechatronic repairs and clutch work.
What is S tronic?
S tronic is a dual-clutch transmission with two clutches for the odd and even gears. In transverse-engine Audis such as the A1, A3, Q2 and Q3, S tronic gearboxes belong to the same DQ family as the Volkswagen Group DSG gearboxes (e.g. DQ200, DQ250 and DQ381).
Longitudinal-engine models such as the A4, A5, A6 and Q5 use their own S tronic versions. Tell us the model and year and we will check the gearbox type.
S tronic oil change
In wet-clutch S tronic gearboxes the oil cools the clutches and drives the hydraulics, so the oil change is part of the manufacturer’s schedule. Old oil is a common cause of jerking and mechatronic faults. We change the oil and filter with products that meet the manufacturer’s requirements and check the oil level at the correct temperature.

Audi S tronic problems
- Jerking when pulling away – often the clutch, mechatronic unit or old oil.
- Gears disappearing or dropping into neutral – a typical mechatronic fault.
- Warning light and fault codes – we confirm the fault with diagnostics.
- Rattling at idle – may point to the dual-mass flywheel.
