Car battery replacement in Espoo
Car won’t start in the cold or cranks slowly? We test the battery and charging system and fit the right battery for your car if needed.
Send your registration number for the price – battery size and type depend on the model.

The right battery and registration
In newer cars the battery is not just a spare part. Start-stop systems need an AGM or EFB battery, and many cars require the new battery to be registered to the control unit. Without registration the charging system treats the new battery like the old one, it wears faster and start-stop may stop working.
We choose the battery from your car’s data and do the required registration with diagnostic equipment, for example on Volkswagen Group cars, BMW, Mini and Mercedes-Benz. For BMW see BMW battery replacement and coding.
The service includes
- Battery test and charging system measurement
- The right battery (lead-acid, EFB or AGM) for your car
- Battery replacement and terminal cleaning
- Battery registration to the control unit when needed
- Fault memory check after the replacement
Signs of a weak battery
- The starter turns slowly, especially in the cold
- The car won’t start or several warnings appear on the dashboard
- Start-stop no longer switches the engine off
- The battery warning light is on or lights dim when starting
- The battery is more than 5–6 years old
Frost clearly reduces a battery’s starting power, so a weak battery often shows up in the first frosty days. You can have the battery tested during a service before winter.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a car battery replacement cost?
It depends on the battery size and type and whether the new battery needs registering. Send your registration number and we will quote the price with battery and labour in advance.
Does a new battery need to be registered?
In many start-stop and newer cars, yes – for example BMW, Volkswagen Group cars and Mercedes-Benz. Registration tells the charging system the battery’s type and capacity.
Can I replace an AGM battery with a normal one?
Not recommended. If the car came with an AGM battery, it needs an AGM battery. An EFB battery can usually be replaced with AGM, but not the other way round.
How long does a car battery last?
Typically about 4–6 years. Short trips, frost and power-hungry equipment shorten its life.
My battery keeps going flat – is it broken?
Not necessarily. The cause may be the alternator or a device drawing power while the car is off. We find the cause with measurements – see auto electrical repair.
