Flush vs. traditional change
With a traditional drain-and-fill, about 50% of the old fluid stays in the torque converter, cooler and elsewhere in the gearbox. Flushing removes contaminants effectively so no old fluid is left to disturb the gearbox.

Signs of old transmission fluid
