What is an EGR valve?
The EGR valve routes part of the exhaust gas back into the intake, which lowers combustion temperature and nitrogen oxide emissions. Especially in diesel engines, soot builds up in the valve and intake manifold and the valve sticks open or closed. A stuck EGR valve also increases soot and can clog the diesel particulate filter.

Can the EGR valve be deleted?
No. Removing or bypassing the EGR system is not allowed, and the car would fail the emissions and OBD check at the inspection. We repair the system so it works.
