Brake fluid change in Espoo
We change the brake fluid on all makes with fluid to the manufacturer’s specification and bleed the brake system.
Send your registration number for the price – the change can also be done during a scheduled service.

Why does brake fluid need changing?
Brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air, which lowers its boiling point. Under hard braking, old fluid can vaporise, the pedal goes soft and braking power drops. Moisture also corrodes the brake system – ABS unit, calipers and pipes – from the inside.
That is why brake fluid is changed by time, usually every two years, even if the car is driven little. Read more: brake fluid change interval.
The service includes
- Brake fluid to the manufacturer’s spec (DOT 4, DOT 4 LV or DOT 5.1)
- Removal of old fluid and bleeding wheel by wheel
- ABS unit bleeding with diagnostic equipment where the manufacturer requires it
- Visual check of pads, discs and hoses
- Service record and next due date
When should brake fluid be changed?
- Two years have passed or the manufacturer’s interval is due
- The brake pedal feels soft or travels deep
- The fluid has darkened or tests high for moisture
- Pads, calipers or hoses are being replaced
- You bought the car used and there is no record of a change
If your brakes squeal or drag, read: squeaking brakes and dragging brakes. Pads and discs: brake pad replacement.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a brake fluid change cost?
It depends on the model and whether the ABS unit has to be bled with diagnostic equipment. Send your registration number for a price in advance. Done with a service, it is the most affordable.
How often is brake fluid changed?
In most cars every two years or according to the manufacturer’s schedule. The interval is time-based because the fluid ages regardless of mileage.
How long does it take?
Usually about an hour. It can be done during a service, brake job or tyre change on the same visit.
Can I just top up the brake fluid?
Topping up does not remove the moisture already absorbed. If the level drops, there may be a leak or the pads are worn – have the brakes checked.
